Hi There is a school in a remote location and I was wondering if that location could be connected via wimax or wireless mesh networking at a reasonable cost. The service provider there is asking too much money upfront for speeds as low as 2Mbps. Is there a possibility of a layman/do it yourself type to set up a wimax network for them so as to access the internet easily? Which are the unregulated frequencies for wimax/wimesh and which equipments would be needed? Can anybody help?
At the Pabal school (vigyanashram.com) some company from bangalore had setup a communication link but unfortunately it was not sustainable maybe due to financial or logistic problems or it happenned when the technology was raw.
