Yes Unity is great and it takes some getting used to. Just wanted to point out that the non-free stuff installed during installation is not the same as ubuntu-restricted-extras. This will have to be installed separately. If you are wondering what is the difference, it is as such: ubuntu-restricted-extras has more packages (codecs etc.) than the ones installed via the installation process.
