Also about the structure I had some inputs, I'll repeat my earlier mail here,
Let me know what do you think.

In terms of contents on the website I think they can fall under these 
categories:

 * Home:                        Shows latest news & activities related to the 
group e.g. the recent install fest in St. Mary's
 * Mailing list:        A brief information about the mailing list and 
instructions to help newcomers to join the list.
 * About:                       A brief introduction about the group, may be 
history or past activities (Need help on this).
 * Schedule:            A schedule of forthcoming meet or event (hackathon, 
install fests), may be name and description the event for example name of 
speakers and brief introduction about the talk.

In my opinion we can also have a contact email, and have a message saying 
something like "Want us to help you in switching your school's software to 
libre software, drop us a line"
(I am not a copywriter, so anyone more knowledgeable can frame the call to 
action here)
