Date : Monday, September 10, 2018 Time : 05:15 pm – 06:30 pm Venue : (SJMSOM Auditorium – adjacent to IRCC/SOM) Michel Bauwens is a well-known writer, researcher and theorist in the area of peer to peer (P2P) production, shared economy and digital cooperativism. He is the founder of the Foundation for Peer-to-Peer Alternatives (http://p2pfoundation.net) and works in collaboration with a global group of researchers in the exploration of peer production, governance, and property. He is also research director of CommonsTransition.org, a platform for policy development aimed toward a society of the Commons. He has crafted a Commons Transition Plan for the city of Ghent in Belgium, after a similar project for Ecuador in 2014. He is also adviser to SMart, a fast growing European labour mutual for autonomous workers, seeking welfare reform, while considering biocapacity-based accounting mechanisms.
