hi .dat is purely MS Win***s based file format and not supported on gnu/linux..
best thing is convert .dat to mpg/mpeg and then use "Mplayer" or "XINE" OR "Kaffenine" video players to play these mpg files... by default Redhat/Fedora series don't come loaded with these video players.they have to be installed using rpm package or compile the source code.. for rpms visit: http://freshrpms.net i hope this will help ! thanks. shashi --- veeru hiremath <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > hello sir > > i am unable to watch the video in red hat gnu/linux > 9.0 > > and i want to convert all my .dat files into linux > readable form so please > > tell me the steps . > > > > thank you sir shashidhar b desai Gnu/Linux Hubli User Group[ILUG-Hubli] http://www.lug.homelinux.org ------------------------------------------- http://www.indianinside.info "Try not.
