SystemTap

SystemTap consists of software that provides a command line
interface and scripting language for analyzing a
running Linux kernel, similar in concept to DTrace
found in Solaris operating system
and other systems. Data may be extracted, filtered, and summarized
quickly and safely to enable diagnosis of complex performance or
functional problems. SystemTap is an open source
project with contributors from Red Hat,
IBM, Intel, Hitachi, Oracle and other community members.
