As I understand your email
EDK 7.1 vs. EDK 8.1
gets the *best* plb_temac I need to upgrade the EDK,
I can stick with 7.1 if I am satisfied with the lower performance,
MVL drivers in source tree of EDK (sw/Thirdparty...)
linux 2.4 vs. linux 2.6
plb_temac drivers already done
plb_temac available in 2.4 via use of xilinx_gige directory
