Hi all, Just wondering, do we have a person from Motorola or a well known embedded linux company that actively ensures the operation of the Linux kernel on mpc8xx, 2.6 in particular?
I noticed that is a lot of work being done by Montavista on the IBM PowerPC chips and Timesys is working heavily on the Motorola 82xx for the 2.6 kernel. But not that much noise is made from these companies in regard to the mpc8xx. Should this be a concern? Wolfgeng mentioned in his interview with Linux Device ( http://linuxdevices.com/articles/AT2240586951.html) that 2.6 may be slow, but if there are so many 2.6 features that are beneficial to embedded development (http://www.linuxjournal.com/article.php?sid=7477), why is mpc8xx , as I see it, being somewhat left behind.
