I'm working on releasing v4.0. Once that is done, I'll start reviewing new stuff once again. Without having looked at your patch series, I've wanted to convert from one shot to periodic timers just because it looks better (even though it doesn't affect conformance or performance). But shouldn't Annouce messages be periodic, too?
