I continue to see superb time synchronization on my Supermicro Atom server (Linux 3.12) using its Intel NICs to sync to PTP using ptp4l and NTP. Ptp4l is steering PHC0 and NTP is steering the system time to the PHC. Over three days this weekend the NTP loopstats jitter was 124 nanoseconds mean and 341 nanoseconds s.d., and the phase offset had a s.d. of 731 nanoseconds. This is in a very uncontrolled office environment.
