Yes, that is whole point of why the pmc program exists.

Not everyone has the same esoteric requirements you have.  We provide
programs that cover common use cases by default.  However, we do *not*
hard code random assumptions about how people will use PTP.  Intead,
the tools, when used properly, allow you to adapt linuxptp to your
particular scenario.
