I faced a similar issue when I was using LinuxPTP for our project. Without
proper documentation, I always ended up digging the codebase to get hold of
the internals. It was a really painful experience. It will be really
helpful if someone can create a High-level software architecture for future
users.

LinuxPTP is now a very popular choice for facilitating PTP and it can
evolve even more with documentation help.
