At ispcs in 2017, there were few projects and proposals on this. IIRC, one was a smart city paper. You might want to check the ispcs archives.
I believe 2 of companies sponsoring the research were IK4 IKERLAN, and the other Olzetech, Inc. Thought it was pretty interesting stuff.
