Well, the situation was way worse than that. The NEMA code was completely broken. I've put together a fix and posted the patches to devel. list with you on CC. Please try them to see if they fix the issue for you. If you prefer git, try the "nmea-bugfix" branch on SF. Once the series is tested, I'll release a v3.1 version as a bugfix.
