Sorry for top-posting; on mobile with a lousy client. I’ve been lurking for a
while, but thought my $0.02 might be helpful today.

Two notes:

1) the hardware is “real” (not virtualized). The KVM reference is to
keyboard/video/mouse redirection over Ethernet which is happening thanks to a
BMC chip on this super micro motherboard. If you’re not familiar with the
concept, it is similar to Dell DRAC or HP iLO - it allows remote server
management like you were sitting in front of the machine (ie at hardware level;
no OS involvement)

2) this is clearly a CentOS 7 load, but the kernel being used is pretty old. I
would recommend updating all core software before making any claim that a user
space application caused a kernel crash.

There is absolutely no way that linuxptp causes a kernel crash.

Well, you certainly have a problem with your kernel. I see "iKVM" in
the title bar. It must a VM. Your kernel seems to throw a GPF in the
loader.

Good luck,
Richard
