The root cause of problem 4, like problems 1, 2, and 3, is the hardware. The issues appear to be fundamental design issues, and little or nothing can be done in software to work around them. Problem 5 sure sounds like a driver bug. I would contact the author of the driver. If the driver is mainline, the best way is to email the author with the netdev list on CC.
