The time in the PHC is not necessarily connected to the Linux kernel time. If they are connected, for example by using phc2sys, then the same scripts that control phc2sys can also control pmc to set currentUtcOffsetValid appropriately. > currentUtcOffsetValid=0 also triggers very broken behaviour in the > Windows 11 PTP client: it will make it use a UTC offset of 0.
