This is a software and a hardware question. I just added a 1 Gb dimm to my R300Z (3700+, 64 vid, 80 Gb 5400 rpm, UXGA) that originally had one 512 dimm. I am currently running Ubuntu Breezy for AMD64. I had heard that there were issues with several drivers of this computer when you had more than 1 GB that required mod lines, has anybody had this kind of issues? My hardware question is the following: how inaccesible is the non user accesible dimm, in case I wanted to go for the full 2 GB?
