Hello everyone...

It's sad, but I think my DVD burner is dying. I'm working on Win lately,
but anyway, the problem is with laptop, and I thought You may help me...
It began today - with long system freezes with no disk activity. I found
in logs lots of messages - "The device, \Device\CdRom1, has a bad block."
- even when there were no disk inside. I had problem with reading some of
my CDs today, but managed to do a 1:1 copy of it without a problem short
while after (reboot was necessary) - weird thing. Now after long and
disturbing freezes, I patiently managed to get to disable the device and I
can write this post.
Did anyone had this kind of problem before?
Oh, I forgot to add - this is the HL-DT-ST DVD+RW GCA-4040N model.
I would really appreciate any answer...

P.S. my warranty ended few days ago - what a timing!

Sad and losing hope
Mac Berger
