     There is some news for those of us with an NVidia GeForce4 440 Go
64M (or similar) graphics interface in our laptops. I just saw that
there are new NVIDIA drivers out. This latest release is suppose to
offer "Improved stability on 64-bit Linux 2.6 kernels."

<http://www.nvidia.com/object/unix.html>

     According to the Appendix Q of the ReadMe, this new release still
only supports APM: "Although ACPI support is advancing in development
kernels and some backported patches for 2.4 kernels exist, the NVIDIA
graphics driver does not yet provide support for ACPI. We hope to finish
this support in the near future."
