I just got my new hpdv8000. I'm not having much luck. I can install FC4 OK. It will boot with vesa driver. I can install fglrx livna package, and I can get 1680x1050, but no dri because that kernel-fglrx package is too old to recognize my chip.
If I update the kernel to any fedora 2.6.14-xxx, it won't boot. Hangs on ACPI: Subsystem revision 20050916. Won't boot with acpi=off either. Hangs on SELinux: Registering netfilter hooks. Does anyone have any experience with this machine?
