I've recently written a whitepaper of sorts on my own idea of how to create and present the internals of any synth and sampler:
http://www.twin-x.com/groupdiy/albums/userpics/Parameterization-Draft_2.pdf This is the second draft, and there will likely be future revisions, most certainly once I figure out how to draw some useful diagrams. I also posted about this on the LinuxSampler BB: https://bb.linuxsampler.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=101 It's centers around the idea that any feature of any synth or sampler can be created from the recursive use of a small set of well-crafted functions, which can then be exposed to the user for some quite amazing possibilities in sound design. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated before I go "public" (ie, throw myself to the wolves :-) on the LAD list. Clarification, ideas for diagrams, pointing out fundamental flaws, all would be appreciated. Thank you for your time. -- Darren Landrum ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
