And what if this is not desired by the user? Then hes forced to live with this 
automatic setup? I think its better not to implement this.

But this issue reminded me about something else: the audio channel routing of 
effects should be revised. ATM the routing expects that 1 source audio 
channel is exactly connected with 1 destination audio channel. In practice 
however one might need to leave a port unconnected or in contrast connect one 
source audio channel to multiple destination audio channels.
