Chris is right - ON DEMAND only works in certain scenarios when you have a
low density of program changes, the density cutoff depending how fast your
setup is and size of instruments being loaded. I also work with massive
amounts of articulations which requires HOLD or PERSISTENT load mode. My
workflow right now when I want to change which instrument I'm working with
is to open up Fantasia and click through the load mode settings of each file
in the map, changing the mode from PERSISTENT to ON DEMAND, then perform the
change-to-null instrument trick across all channels from the sequencer. Then
go to the map for my new instrument and change all the load modes to
PERSISTENT. To say the least, I'm excited to hear a solution for this is in
the works!
