Yes, I thought so as well. My current idea is to patch your new regex
in wav2gig (didn't look into it yet) and catch a case, where there is
only a value instead a regex, at least for 
--regex-velocity-nr
and
--regex-note-nr.

Cool, thanks. By reading that, I just learned about gig2stereo. Didn't
know that existed. I will definitely  use that!
