This performance issue of the SFZ engine has been reported before:

As I suggested there, this should be profiled such that the relevant heavy
code section is identified. The previous reporter apparently lost attraction
to continue profiling this issue.

You can use any profiling tool of course, it doesn't have to be oprofile.
