Hi,
   
  Edit the /etc/sudousers file by "visudo" command as root.
   
  In this file below User_Alias specification, give the user name to make 
superuser like the one below :-
   
  User_Alias  ADMINS = username
   
  Also write below root :
   
  ALL = (ALL) ALL
   
  ADMINS ALL = ALL
     
Thats it.  Now save and quit.  If no errer occurs, then it will definitely work.
   
  To check the configuration, login as that user and write :
   
  sudo -l
   
  It will prompt you for the password.  Specify and check the output.
   
  For any further help, you can always check man sudo
