Also . . . my 2 cents . . . I can see value in pushing this plugin upstream now 
since maybe you'd get some community help to flesh out the functionality.  But 
I wouldn't push to have it included in LTP builds yet, since its functionality 
is so extremely limited -- especially in light of the fact that the oprofile 
plugin exists and has full functionality.
