The update site contains two categories, in Mars I usually install just
the "Docker Tooling" and seems to be working fine, but how about the
"Docker Client Dependencies", do I need those plugins too?

Can you give us more details on the errors you had ?
We actually target Eclipse Mars so you may have dependency versions issue
if you try to install it on Luna.
