While not completely F/OSS related (unless they run on *nix, which I
have no idea), those needing a wi-fi boost should check out the Ruckus

I looked at them this weekend for a rural wireless project I'm doing
with the guys from eFanz WiFi out of Omaha, NE. They're insanely easy
to set up and let you bridge networks, create another one NAT'd behind a
distance SSID, etc. Fire up the unit, hit the AP's SSID, then HTTP to
the .1 of the address you're given and go through their little wizard.
These are really helpful on some of the tiny nix-based laptops / devices
that don't quite have the juice to transmit their signal back to the AP
up stream.
