I'm sure some of you have already heard the news, but just to make sure, I thought I'd share one of the many articles coming out regarding the matter. [1]
Not only is the VCenter server component going to run on Linux as a virtual appliance, but all client software will run on Linux, Windows, Mac, and even to some extent, an iPhone. Hmmm... maybe they'll port it to Android when it becomes available. :-) I've been watching this VMware community forum thread [2] that has been running for about two years, and have also been harrassing our EMC and VMWare reps about Linux support for months, so I'm real excited to hear about their new direction.
