So, this came across one of the work-related (GIS) news feed thingies I see at work sometimes. Microsoft is showing this at a GIS related conference this week - it's called SVP, short for Single View Platform.
So, I'm on a phone call, tethered to my desk, I go and check it out just to see what they are offering. I see the standard Microsoft marketing page (99% fluff, 1% content.) Then, as I'm about to close the page, towards the bottom I see a little box with 4 little icons in it and almost fell out of my chair. Microsoft put up a page with links to "Share this on:" digg, del.icio.us, Facebook, and stumbleupon? Wow! Honestly, this has to be a first for Microsoft. Encouraging someone to use an internet site like digg or facebook to link to their page? Does this mean they "get it" now? Or is this "so 2006"...
