Occasionally I mess with Windows software. When it comes to gaming or Music software, you almost alway end up looking at Windows Software for something. For this I use Wine. Since Hardy Heron, I have issues with wine sound working. Finally I stopped at researched the problem alittle. I guess it has to do with the fact that I am using AMD64bit Linux. I found the solution here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WineForAMD64
Hardy 8.04 (64-bit) & Sound Bypass PA with pasuspender and use the ALSA sound driver in wine. girlfriend:~$ pasuspender winecfg Launch applications similarly girlfriend:~$ pasuspender wine app.exe Thought this might be helpful.
