That is correct AT&T will not give you 3G on the G1, a number of my
coworkers use the G1 on AT&T, and I haven't heard any complaints.  Some
really do need 3G, but even when my G1 is on Edge networks it is pretty
quick for most operations.  Just wanted to mention that.
