Of course you can also add a line in your system's hosts file. In linux/unix/ it's at /etc/hosts.
On Windows systems the location can differ depending on Windows versions. On our one Windows laptop I keep a link to it on my desktop. Format of the line: xx.yy.zz.aa<tab>example.com<tab>www.example.com Where the xx.yy.zz.aa is of course the IP address assigned to you, and the <tab> is of course the tab key, and example.com is replaced by your domain name.
