Well maybe that's what smart phones are for.

I think netbooks are the step up from there, where you actually need
to interact in a rich way with app or web site. Then I want a
keyboard. I can't stand typing anything longer than  hi ware r u  with
out a keyboard.

For me it's not a big thing to open up a lid.

BUT the real problem is having it ready to do something *immediately*
when I open it up. With a keystroke I want to be able to save an
unfiled note, cancel an alarm, check calendar, or update facebook
status, or whatever. I don't want to have to wait for the thing to
powerup/ resume, fiddle with a start menu, launch an app, position the
cursor, etc.
