Hm, I am using the graphical login, but there is a drop-down menu to
choose the layout, so it should just work....

It did work that way, but no matter what I did, the 6-character password
didn't work with Ubuntu's GUIs. I don't know why.

I'll add a bug report, maybe someone will be able to help me.
