WOW!! I work for an ISP and we deal with routers all the
time. I
would have to say that Buffalo and Belkin are the two that
we have
the most problems with.
For the DDWRT firmware, we use ASUS exclusively.

They don't with the DD-WRT installed. We change their firmware to
DD-WRT before we put them into service.

We use the ASUS WL-520GC as a router or configure it for wireless, and
they work great. Not one failure on these and we have about 200 in the
field. Buffalo's were our exclusive for a few years
and than we started having problems with about 40% of them right out of
the blue. I think it was about the time they were in the middle of
patent infringement litigation and they were at fault.
That's when we made the change.
