There is talk on the Ubuntu-CA list ( https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-us-ca ) about holding a couple of 10.04 Release/Launch parties. I think there are two scheduled in Northern California, but there is also talk about scheduling one for Southern California, probably Anaheim or Irvine area... they are also discussing the date being May 8.
I'm considering driving down to OC if they do officially schedule a launch party, just to meet/greet other Ubuntu Linux users in the area. I expect some of the goal of the party is to also have an "installfest" and help people who may not be familiar with Ubuntu Linux to get it installed on a laptop. If this does happen, is there anyone else from Riverside / San Bernardino areas that would want to carpool, or go along for the day (or half-day/whatever)?
