It makes sense. 

The tco of linux in a primarily software engineering focused company has long 
been superior to windows. 

I think they have sufficient linux knowledge to run a 10k fleet of non windows 
desktops. Lol. 

Perhaps we will finally get decent management infrastructure along the lines of 
ad and group policy.
