CPanel is NOT free.  The company that supplies the image, BuycPanel.com, will 
sell you a license for $15/month.

CPanel isn't in anyone's repositories; it's a closed source commercial package 
for webhosting servers.  It manages the entire server.  You may or may not be 
able to install SugarCRM with CPanel.  You definitely can install WordPress 
with CPanel.

Personally I prefer CentOS on servers; one reason is that I know how to 
exclude programs from being updated by YUM, I've never figured out how to do 
that with Apt-Get.

But you should inevitably use the OS Distro you feel most comfortable with, or 
most comfortable with learning.  It's one-click availability or lack thereof 
really shouldn't be your deciding factor.
