CPanel is NOT free. The company that supplies the image, BuycPanel.com, will sell you a license for $15/month. > I like the Worpress Stack because I want to run wordpress: > > http://aws.amazon.com/amis/0333121921283706 > > And I like to SugarCRM because, of course, it has the CRM stack: > > I want all three features, and I'm just wondering what would be the > best Image to start with. > I notice that neither cpanel, nor SugarCRM are in the Ubuntu > Repositories. CPanel isn't in anyone's repositories; it's a closed source commercial package for webhosting servers. It manages the entire server. You may or may not be able to install SugarCRM with CPanel. You definitely can install WordPress with CPanel. Personally I prefer CentOS on servers; one reason is that I know how to exclude programs from being updated by YUM, I've never figured out how to do that with Apt-Get. But you should inevitably use the OS Distro you feel most comfortable with, or most comfortable with learning. It's one-click availability or lack thereof really shouldn't be your deciding factor.
