Does anyone know how well current Character recognition software is working. The two obvious types would be software that could recognize Characters by viewing it through a scanner, and detecting it from an image file. .gif .jpg .png. etc. I want to fine something that can read record labels directly from a record (you know... those black music disks they used to play on a thing called a record player), or from an image of a record.
