We did an online version of this with Mandrake back in 2002 with an eMachines type company. I bought one of those machines and until this past weekend, it was the household dhcp, dns, and media server. Not bad for longevity I guess. It's survived a few harddrive upgrades with no issues. We just moved and now I'm just using the wireless gateway to serve the dhcp/dns. I am thinking of reinstalling CentOS on the machine to make it a wireless bridge for our (wired ethernet) print server and a couple of workstations. Haven't thought much about the media server part.
