I've used mutt with offlineimap. I've used mutt with procmail and fetchmail to handle local filtering and such. Both of these setups were totally awesome and I should get back to using them. Mutt is my favorite email client for sure. Dial-in your .mailcaprc and you're set. I stopped using this setup because I used to ride the train and the ssh connection to the machine running these tools was too latent (over both evdo and 3g).
