And all good things (or not so good things) must come to an end.

On May 6, 2004, I started a mailing list "909Linux" for people in the
909 area code. 3,010 days later, I have no idea who the majority of the
members on the list are, or what area code they would come from... but
that's OK :) As the size and nature of the group has changed over the
years, it seems the value of this list has decreased a lot, especially
in the past 12 months, as our Riverside meetings have waned as well.

Due to cost-cutting, an aggressive re-budgeting of my time, and moving a
bunch of domains off of this server, leading to I have no idea when or
where these files will end up, I'm taking the mailing list and website
offline tonight. Probably for good. I plan on hanging on to the
socallinux.org domain, and may re-purpose it in the future, if there is
a need.

For now, first, let me say thanks to everyone that contributed to this
group over the years. I have learned a lot from you all.

Secondly, I want to encourage you to continue to interact, both with the
people on this list, and a potentially larger group of Linux users in
Southern California, by doing the following:

* JOIN the Facebook group: http://www.facebook.com/groups/socallinux/
           it is currently administered by
http://www.facebook.com/cantormath

* CREATE yourself a 'circle' of Linux people from SoCal in Google+

* ATTEND SCALE 11x next February, and for many years to come:
http://socallinuxexpo.org/

* LOCATE another local LUG to attend and participate (start with the
list below...)

As this list is now offline, any questions can be sent to my e-mail.
Regards, David
