He's talking about a GNU Key.  If you've heard of PGP (or Pretty Good
Privacy) it's similar.  It's a computerized way of "signing" things to
prove that you are the originator of the message.

It's a long and complex thing to explain.  I suggest you read this:

It has a lot of information about it, as well as links to more
information that better explains it.

If you don't have the time, just think of it as a digital signature
that cannot be duplicated by anyone other than you, but can (like a
real signature) be verified by anyone as being yours.
