I had already read that thread and trying that was one of the first
things I did.  No joy.  I finally ran out of options and simply re-
built the array from scratch.  I copied all 4.5T of data from the
backup, and have manually re-built most of the missing files.  Shortly
after the rsync was compete, I suffered another 2 drive aborts, and
now I'm adding back one of the drives and re-syncing.  After this
drive re-syncs, I'll pull the (hopefully) last aborted drive and move
it into the CPU chassis.

I'm definitely sorry I ever bought this JBOD chassis.  None of the
drives fail again after they are moved out of the chassis.
