While I agree that many of the DVCS solutions are technologically
superior, often times it's best to go with Subversion for simplicity,
how ubiquitous it is, and because it integrates with many tools.

The simplest way to deploy Subversion is through Apache using an LDAP
or mod_dbd authenticator, with the hard-core serving through mod_dav
and mod_dav_svn.

If you Google you'll find enough how-to's to fill many hard disks
with.  Have fun (HINT: use LDAP.  Fedora has a good LDAP wizard IIRC).
