With Linux, absolutely.

You're thinking of an OEM installation process.  Google is your
friend, search for OEM installation of Linux, and you'll find
something.  I know Ubuntu has a setting (deeply hidden in their
"alternate" installation disk) to make an OEM install of the system.


Linux is actually much better at OEM installations that Windows.
Windows depends on the motherboard and CPU being exact - if you change
your motherboard, Windows will not boot.  Linux, on the other hand, if
the kernel is compiled with most every piece of hardware as a Linux
Kernel Module, then it uses a tool called modprobe to discover all the
hardware in the system and load those drivers - automatically.

So you can have the same installation hop between tons of different
systems without a problem.
