Hi, Although I did not get a reply to the many mails I sent you about getting linuxant driver from site and configuring your modem using kppp dialer, from your mail about how to work wvdial I am glad about your success so far.The steps to configure kppp dialer and get you Internet Service Provider are simple.Kppp configuration window click configureto get new window.Click accounts to get NEW click it to get NEW ACCOUNT enter name of your connection as your ISP,the Phone number of your ISP authentication is PAP or PAP CHAP click OK go to IP click dynamic IP.Next click gateway, select default gateway.,next click DNS under dns servers domain name enter your ISP name.DNS select manual.Pl obtain the DNS address primary and secondary from your ISP (like 202.54.6.35 and 202.54.1.30)Type primary first in space provided click ADD the typed numbers will go into DNS address list.Next type secondary DNS where you typed primary DNS first which has moved down. click ok Next click device next to accounts tab you will see Modem Name, type CONNEXANT,next in modem device enter /dev/modem.This is very important. You must have seen the out put when you activated the HSF driver # hsfconfig the last line of the out put is "your hsf modem should now be accessible as/dev/tty/shsfo or through the link /dev/ modem.Next unselect wait for dial tone before dialling.Modem volume move to loud.click query modem you will be able to see a line moving and modem detected if all is ok so far click ok go back to first popup KPPP.Enter your ISP name in connect to space, your login ID you gave to your ISP In its space eg kishen poudel, next your password in the space given which your ISP is aware of which you can change later.Next click connect your modem will produce the same type of sounds you have been getting when you use it on windows.Mr Poudel for your information I was among the first few who worked with Linuxant Canada when this driver was being developed as a BETA version in 2002.Pl let me know if you have your connexant modem working on dialup through Linux.Wish you good luck and a good day.Kesava
